It’s amazes me how so few people can stay focused on goals that they’ve set for themselves. But, then again when I think about it, it’s almost expected. People place themselves under so much burden, which makes it hard to pursue their goals and dreams. Two of the major burdens (in my opinion) people place themselves in are;
* Getting into debt
* Making/building unhealthy relationships
Think back to the new year and all the excitement that was in the air when you established your New Years Resolution. One month late, how is the resolution coming along? I hope good. But for most of us, not so good. Why?
Well, it’s simple. You’ve forgotten about freedom, you’ve forgotten the reason behind the goal you previously set for yourself…hence you are still a slave to your dreams.
Everyone in this world dreams (I’m not just talking about at night), but only few ever realize their dreams. Why? The people who move from the category of dreaming to seeing dreams come true are the same ones who never forget what it means to be free.
Think about it, during the years of slavery their were free slaves. Their were slaves who were not considered slaves, these slaves escaped and freed themselves to the North. Why didn’t the others slaves do the same? Some might say that it was too risky, which could be true, but what isn’t?
If you want to go from a position of weakness to a position of strength, you’ve got to learn why you need to get there, find out how to get there, then go. Never question the obstacles you encounter if the destination is what you desire. Don’t be a slave to your dreams by forgetting the importance and reason behind your dreams.
I’ve struggle with forgetting why I need to be free recently. Why? Because I’ve been comparing myself to others my age (try not to never do this). I’m 22, just graduated from a university with absolutely no college debt (or others), I’m making about 45k yearly with less than 12K in yearly expenses, I own two growing businesses, and have about 3k in the bank and growing… I can keep going, but let me spare you from wanting to kill hurt me.
Sounds great right? Not all the time because sometimes this small success tries to enslave me from achieving greater success that I’ve set out to accomplish in life. Some people say that I need to chill and relax, but only if they knew how big my dreams are. My dream right now is Freedom and I don’t plan on hitting the breaks, not now.
Freedom…It’s so vivid in my mind. What about you?

[...] Everyone’s story is and will be different, but I encourage you to seek way to graduate college debt-free. If not debt-free, seek ways to reduce the amount of student loans that you will need to pay after graduation. Why? It’s not fun to work very hard during the week, only to give your money away to students loans. Don’t forget what it feels like to be FREE! [...]
