Thank God It’s Sunday (T.G.I.S.), last week was a great one. We all got a chance to experience something special, the swearing in of the first African-American US President, Barrack Obama. I am very proud of our new President and wish him and his family the best on this journey of struggle and victory. I’ve never seem someone evoke so much hope into so many peoples lives like Obama has done this past year. I am not sure exactly how his presidency will end, but I am confident that he will do the right thing for America as a whole because of the character of his heart (which I got a chance to witness during the whole election process).
In case you missed it, here it is…
Check out the crowd, now that is a true representation of Americans…people from all different types of background.
After listening to Barrack Obama’s address to the nation, I was encourage to do more, to be more, to continue to dream, to continue to inspire, to continue to live, to continue…I might be wrong, but I am not afraid to say that this is a turning point for America, it’ll never be the same again (for so many reasons).
In the mist of the Change, I was able to make some changes to this blog. I added two new pages to Mybarnabas.com (Coming Soon, and Mymusic), check them out and find out the value they bring to this encouraging community (also let me know what you think). My goal is to make this blog a central place for young people (or young at heart). If you enjoy this blog and know others who would too, help me on the journey to reach out to them. Tell them about the value you’ve been able to receive from this blog and recommend it to them, that way we can continue on our path of growth since the launch of this blog.
Some of my favorite readings from last week that I think you all will enjoy are;
* Can Money Buy Happiness?, what do you think? I don’t think money always buys happiness, but I think money can buy happiness (or at least the sense of it)
* Frugal People Focus Too Much On The Outgo, I agree that focusing on how much you spend alone, will never get you to the financial levels you dream about. Think about it, why do you think all those Wal-Mart shoppers still haven’t save up enough money to buy that Bentley GT Continental?
* How To Figure Out What To Do With Your Life, I don’t really thing anyone can figure out exactly what they want to do with their life. I think people can only pick the direction in which they want to head, while in that journey they start to develop the ideas of how they want their life to be
* FreeCreditReport.com Is Not Free, like I said before, the only true palce to get your free credit score whenever you want to is CreditKarma.com
* When it comes to Taxes, the middle class have been getting the short end of the stick. Taxes have gone up for that group of people, but have gone down for the poor and rich. Lesson learned, “don’t be average”
* Why I’m Delusional (About Success) And You Should Be Too, gives you a little evidence on why it’s OK to be hardcore about success (it works in your favor)
* I don’t have kids ( at least not that I know of…just kidding), but for those of you who do these are 8 Fundemental Money Lessons For Kids
