Hello! My name is Chiko and I want to welcome you to MyBarnabas.com. I am  a 22 years old (As of 2008) dreamer, with a lot of passions, with one of them being personal finance. I started MyBarnabas.com to share my experiences and adventure towards achieving financial independence.

On my 22nd birthday (July, 26, 2008), I sat down and mapped out a lot of the things that I will like to accomplish in life. I categorized them all in four major Phases (Freedom, Wealth, Difference, Legacy), with each category beginning after the previous is complete. Then I established a long-term goal for each Phase and then broke the long-term goal into short-term goals (3 months long). In a way, MyBarnabas.com is also a way to keep me accountable to my short-term goals, which will lead to my long-term goals. My current major goal is to be financially independent (residual income greater that my full-time job income) by the age of 25. The phase that I am currently in right now is know as The Pursuit of Freedom, because my focus is just to create enough residual income to be freed from having to go to 9-5.  Seems like a task right? I agree, but that doesn’t means that it’s impossible, right? Follow me through this wonderful journey.

I will be graduating from Towson University  January 11, 2009 with a bachelors degree in Health Care Management and a minor in Business Administration. I am fortunate to graduate college with absolutely no debt (Gate’s Scholar, stock trading, business owner, part-time jobs) unlike many.

My goal for MyBarnabas.com is not just to talk about myself (all the time), I want it to be a place where anyone can come for encouragement, hence the name Barnabas. I plan to do this by adding different elements to MyBarnabas.com that you will not see elsewhere in the personal finance blog world.

I am new to blogging and open to suggestions, so if there are ways I can make your experience at MyBarnabas.com more meaningful, feel free to let me know.
